Achilles, I Wish I'd Never Knew Ya'

I have documented my attempts at fitness here on my little blog. I have had a twisted knee, chest injury, and my broken right pinkie toe. But no matter the obstacles, I have persisted in my fitness goals.  Since my broken right pinkie toe was still sore,  I have relied on my treadmill so that the shock to my foot would be lessened.  What could go wrong?

In an effort to increase my heart rate, I started doing hills on the treadmill.  You know, you ratchet up the incline so that you are running uphill.  And it was working.  I was getting a good workout.

And then this  guy raised his ugly little head.

Maybe he isn't so ugly after all!

Don't recognize him?  Why that is Achilles, the famous warrior.  Well, it wasn't actually him that started causing trouble (but with those arms I bet he could) it was really this version of Achilles that was causing me pain.

Yes, I have stressed, irritated, and just plain messed up my Achilles tendon. So now I am sitting on the couch with the laptop and my Diet Coke.

Do you think God is trying to tell me to slow down? Maybe I need to start using one of these.
